In this assignment, you (and your group) will be installing an operating system onto the computer you deconstructed/reconstructed. You may change computers if yours no longer works, just talk to me about it first.
There are many different types of operating systems available, and you may install any operating system with a Graphical User Interface as long as you have a legal copy of it.
For this assignment I am suggesting Ubuntu be your installation.
1. Determine if your computer meets the minimum requirements for your chosen operating system.
2. Obtain/prepare an installation copy of your chosen operating system.
For Linux installations, you should be using a USB Flash Drive which you can get from me.
Download the Latest Version of Ubuntu
Previous versions of Ubuntu (Use these if your computer does not meet the system requirements)
Preparing your Ubuntu Installation - This will require you to temporarily install Rufus
3. Find a Tutorial for installing your chosen Operating System
4. Install your Operating System
Be sure to use the entire storage space for the installation. This will require you to format (delete everything) the drive before installation. Most installers will do this for you.
5. Configure a User Account for login including a secure password.
Share this information among your group and with me, but don't let anyone else know it. This will come into play later in a bonus assignment.
