The Halton Student Film Festival is open to all students currently attending any Halton District School Board Secondary school.
It is a festival that celebrates student success in film-making by recognizing both technical and creative achievements.
A large number of students participate each year from various subject areas making this a true display of how technology can be integrated in all academic and technical subjects. "Eddies" are given out in various categories during the Film Festival. Following the presentation of awards, all of the winning entries are viewed on the big screen so everyone can view the films of other students. We invite students, staff, and family members to come out and share in the success of our talented students.
So where does the name "Eddies" come from? The very first Halton film festival was hosted during Education Week in 2002.
The Grammys are The Recording Academy to recognize outstanding achievement in the mainly English-language music industry. Take the word Grammys and the word Education, put them together and you get, The EDDIES.
