It is that time of year again where it looks like the colder weather is here to stay. Please make sure your child has the proper outdoor clothing available to keep them comfortable during recess time. Remember, we do go out twice a day for 20 minutes. Please continue to work with your child on dressing for the outdoors (e.g., zipping up their jacket, practice putting on gloves) so their independence can continue to grow. If your child needs a new set of extra clothing that is seasonally appropriate, please either send us an email, or note indicating you would like the extra clothes sent home to swap out, or that you have sent in extra clothes to be added.

With the colder weather, also comes more runny noses. We are looking for donations of Kleenex/tissues as our stock is running low. Thank you to those who have already donated Kleenex/tissues earlier this year.

On Wednesday, October 24, we will be participating in our Dance-a-thon. Please make sure to return the pledge envelope if your child has raised funds for this event.

Also, Mrs. Jacome and I would really like to acknowledge all the different celebrations/traditions/days of importance our class takes part in. Therefore, we are asking for your help by sending us an email or quick note to indicate what your family recognizes. If you could please provide what the celebrations/traditions/days of importance are and when it happens (e.g., Kwanza ~ December 26-January 1) that would be most helpful.

These are what have been shared with us so far based on the information you returned at the beginning of the year (We have inputted the dates ourselves so please correct us if we are wrong);

Diwali - November 7, 2018

Eid Al Fitr - June 6, 2019

Eid Al Adha - August 11-August 15 2019

Christian celebrations - (please specify which ones)

Sabbot (Celtic) - (please specify which ones)

If you think your child might want to share about their celebration/tradition/day of importance, please let us know and we can try and arrange something.

Thank you so much and we look forward to learning and sharing these special days.

Have a great weekend.

I just realized I made an error on the October calendar by listing that pizza order forms were due on the 11th. I hope that by posting the date for several weeks here on the 'homepage,' that I did not cause anyone to miss the deadline. My deepest apologies and I will try and limit errors in the future. Erika

We have picture day on October 12 and are uncertain as to when exactly we will be called down. The photographers do try their best to have all the Kindergarten classes pictures taken prior to eating snack and going outside for recess.

Have a wonderful long weekend and we hope you all get to spend it exactly how you would like to. We look forward to seeing everyone again Tuesday.

It is hard to believe we have finished our third week of school together!

Just a few reminders;

Please remember if you are sending your child with items that require a utensil (e.g., fork or spoon), that you send it with them. We have used the last of our left over supply of spoons but, still have some forks left. We just want to try and make sure your child can eat what you have sent with them. Thank you for your help.
