GAME RECAPS:

Week#6

In the final regular season game the playoff picture was uncertain for both the Sr and Jr teams.  A win and the Jr Huskies would make the playoffs.  A win the for the Sr team would determine a second or third place finish on the season.

The Jr team came across a tough Georgetown team who ran the ball well and played a physical game.  With Georgetown leading all of the game late into the 4th quarter a 4th and 15 pass caught by Jonah Schothuis brought the Huskies within one score 20-14.  Shortly after Craig Sherrington ran for 40 yards to score a touchdown and the extra point sealed the win.  With the win they finished 4th and will face Nelson on Thursday Nov 9th.

In the second game the Sr Huskies lost 21-3.  The offense had their best outing of the year but was not able to capitalize inside the Georgetown's 5yrd line on two occasions.  While the defense held the Rebels in check, a couple of long passes got behind the secondary for touchdowns.  With the loss the Sr's finished 4th with a 3-3 record and will face the Nelson Lords on Thursday Nov 9th @ 2pm.

Week#5

Both the Jr and Sr team traveled to MM Robinson this week coming away with a loss and a victory.

The Sr team started the day off with and early field goal on their first drive with a strong run game.  Touch downs by Ryan Malvaso and a blocked punt recovery in the end zone by Eliot Henstock late in the 3rd quarter gave the Huskies a 17-3 lead going into the 4th.  MMR scored two late touchdowns but the defense blocked the first PAT and knock down the 2pt conversion to secure the win.

Meanwhile the Jr Huskies were unable to stop a formidable MMR offensive running game.  While the Huskies offense did have the ball in the red zone multiple times they were only able to come away with one touch down.  Final Score 34-7.

Week #4

Both the Jr and Sr teams suffered disappointing losses last week vs Iroquois Ridge Trailblazers.  Trailing 28-20 with 6 mins left the Jr team moved the ball to the Trail Blazers 1 yrd line only to be stopped on 4th down.  They would eventually get a safety for 2 points.  With a quick defensive stop they had one last effort that unfortunately fell short.  The final for the game was 28-22.

Meanwhile in the second game the Sr played a a strong defensive game limiting Iroquois to limited yards throughout the game and only one touchdown late in the second quarter.  The Husky offensive struggled all game to move the ball, only able to string together a few drives one of which saw Chris Simpson power his way to the end zone on a 25 yrd run.  A late field goal attempt by the Huskies going for the win was blocked and the final was 8-7.
