Lady Tigers Volleyball
The Volleyball Team for the year of 2018-2019 school year has done an outstanding job on and off the court. The Lady Tigers were 1st in District and 2nd in conference this season. Overall, The Lady Tigers won 15 of 19 Volleyball matches which has been the best here at West Hoke Middle School in 11 years!!! Along with doing a great job on the court, The Lady Tigers maintained a team GPA of 88.71. The Lady Tigers dedicated time and effort to help each other on and off the court. While still succeeding in both areas academically and athletically, The Lady Tigers also committed to doing community service by selling sodas for a fundraiser event. The Lady Tigers were the 1st place over all Fall athletic team for selling over 50 cases of soda and raising $755 collectively as a small team. The Lady Tigers are coached and lead by Ms. Ray.
Meet Our Coaches
Coach Terrance Jackson
Terrence Jackson Graduated from Creswell High School in 2013. While in high school he was a three sport athlete (Football, Basketball, and Baseball). After graduation he received a baseball scholarship to St. Andrews University in Laurinburg North Carolina. Jackson played baseball for 4 years, and I graduated from SAU in 2017 with a BA degree in Sports & Recreation studies. Jackson got hired on the WHMS staff the summer of 2107 and is now 1 of the 3 PE teachers, assistant football coach, and head baseball coach.
Coach Keshaunda Ellison
Keshaunda Ellison has been an Health and Physical Education teacher and loving wife and mother. Her background focus on students and education and had led her to a number of volunteer opportunities and community leadership roles. Keshaunda received her Bachelor of Science in Theraputic Receration at Shaw University.
Coach Steven Schrock
My name is Mr. Steven C Schrock. I am an 8th grade science teacher.In the spring, I am the WHMS Soccer Coach. I have been at West Hoke since the 2012-2013 school year.
Previously I taught at Overhills Middle School in Harnett County where I was the: Team lead teacher, 7th grade House Leader, the Chemical Hygiene/Safety Officer, the Science Olympiad Coach and the Robotics Club Advisor. Additionally, I was a middle grades lead science advisor to the Middle School Coordinator for Harnett County and have served on the Harnett County Science Fair Steering Committee since 2007. I was the Overhills Middle School Teacher of the Year for 2008-2009. I was selected the NC State Science Teacher of the Year for 2010. I was nominated for the 2012 National STEM Teacher of the Year.
I grew up in Chicago, Illinois and enlisted in the United States Air Force. My background included various duties in tactical law enforcement and as a first sergeant. I retired in 2003 after serving honorably for 22 years.
I am currently pursuing my doctorate in Curriculum and Teaching (Ed D). I have a Masters of Education (M.Ed) in Curriculum and Instruction, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I graduated summa cum laude (4.15 GPA) from Methodist University and have a double major: History and Middle Grades Education. Additionally, I hold an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and an Associate Degree in Personnel Management.
As a highly qualified educator, my credentials include middle grades science and social studies, secondary social studies and K-12 academically gifted. I currently instruct continuing education classes at Fayetteville Technical Community College.
I have three daughters: Samantha, Shannon and Shaunna
