IMC Events

IMC Events have been limited on account of Covid-19, but don't worry--

we still have plenty of activities for your enjoyment!

Check out our student newsletter for the latest reads, crafts, and ideas!
Each month, pick up the featured Take & Make kit at the circulation desk!
The month of May ushered in our "Caught Reading" Contest--just submit a reading selfie!

Maker Monday, 5/9

On select Mondays, the IMC hosts tutorial sessions for "making" of all kinds. Paper circuits, finger-knitting, catapult challenges, and more, the Makerspace has all the tools and materials for crafters and techies alike! This time, we're making marshmallow blasters!

Scroll down for more details on our otherwise regularly-occurring events!

Seasonal Activities

As the weather changes, so do our after-school festivities! Whether we're painting pumpkins or making ornaments, the IMC is the place to be for feeling the holiday spirit! Did we mention there are always snacks?

Winter Wondercraft looked a bit different this year. "Take&Make" kits were prepared in advance for student pick-up, since the IMC had to close the week before winter break.

Nothing cures the winter blues like the heat of a little friendly competition! Students and staff join forces to flex their smarts in teams of five. Who will take the title of Trivia Champ at our fifth annual contest next year?

The 4th Annual Trivia Competition was FIERCE! Team Double E took the title, getting nearly 80% of all the questions correct!

Maker Faire

If you like Maker Mondays, then you'll LOVE Maker Faire! Our biggest event of the year, this two-day spring expo focuses on creativity and innovation. Stations are set-up around the entire IMC for you to explore and tinker.

Student-worker Jack Fetzer's electronic cornhole was a big hit in 2019! Maker Faire was cancelled in 2020 and 2021, but you can do some of your own making from home HERE!

On the last Friday of the month, the IMC hosts featured musicians from Central's staff and student body to perform live during Unit Lunch. Join us for great music, complimentary refreshments, and that coffeehouse vibe!
In February 2019, Mr. Bellotti and guest speaker Dr. Ray Terranova played songs arranged by their band. Follow them @the_street_friars on IG!

We are always looking for new talent!

Contact Ms. Spina for more information on performing in Coffeehouse and/or IMC Unplugged.

IMC Unplugged

Twice per year, the IMC puts on a student variety show during block 5. From playing instruments to telling jokes, reciting poetry to doing tricks, both the Fall and Spring editions of Unplugged are sure to impress!
