Athletic trainers save lives

What Parents Need To Know About School Athletic Trainers

Sports injuries can be serious. Brain and spinal cord injuries and conditions such as heat illness can be life threatening if not recognized and properly handled. ATs are there to treat acute injuries on the spot. Athletes have chronic

illnesses, too. People with diabetes and asthma can and do safely work and exercise, and the athletic trainer can

help manage these critical health issues as they relate to physical exertion.

  • Student-Athletes should report all injuries to Ms. Palermo, the Certified Athletic Trainer before going to a doctor, so that the injury is documented and the school is aware of it.

Ms. Palermo has the knowledge and means of caring for many minor sports injuries. Some injuries can be treated in-house at the athletic training room, saving you a trip to the doctor and money!
