Ms. Johnson

AVMS School Counselor

Hi! My name is Ms. Johnson. I am the School Counselor for 8th graders and half of 7th grade (Team Prestige & Team Dignity). Ms. Stone serves 6th grade students and the other half of 7th grade (Team Honor & Team Phoenix).

School counselors are here to help students with their social-emotional, academic, and career development. Friendship or relationship issues, family stress, drugs and alcohol, bullying, self-harm, conflict resolution, abuse, sexual experimentation, positive self-concept, or anything that might interfering with a students ability to do their best at school are issues a school counselor might help a student with.

Students can self refer to the counselor by leaving a note at our office, telling their teacher they would like to see us, or by using the student request for counseling form. Parents are welcome to contact us as well by email or calling the school. Teachers can also make a referral to the counselor for students for which they have concerns.
