This course deals with the basics of the language.  It introduces students to the basics of the language and culture, and helps them develop skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.  Students learn vocabulary used in everyday conversation and grammar needed to conduct simple dialogues.  Writing and listening skills in the target language are also stressed.  Moreover, students are exposed to different cultures and ways of life that may be, at times, very different from their own.  This study enables students to broaden their points of view and to become more tolerant of things and people different from themselves.
