Since my freshman year of high school, I have been ranking teams, predicting outcomes, finding stats, and looking to quantify the game I love so much. It's why this site exists, it's why I work getting write-ups and stats out quickly, it's why I've amassed thousands of HSQB posts (God, I need a life).
But, no matter what kind of numbers I put together, no matter how many games I analyze, however many teams' points per game I can rattle off the top of my head, one thing cannot be so easily translated into a Google Sheet formula, and that is my appreciation for this community. My awe at how quickly this clade of Natural State quizbowlers has grown online. The impact that this game and its players have had on my life and the knowledge that that very impact will continue as I finish out high school next year and enter college.
I've been asked by the AGQBA President if I plan on continuing this page next year and beyond, and migrating it onto a personal Google Site after I leave the Hazen High School organization. And when I look at the amount of students whose strong performances are immortalized through this project, when I look at the cooperation and enthusiasm I get from coaches around the state when I ask for their stats from a tournament, when I look at younger me, who would have been so proud of this project, I have a very simple answer.
Of course I do.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those who have collaborated, sent stats, or simply viewed this site to see what happened last Saturday. You all make this worth it.
