Jackson McGinnis, a senior at Marion High School and longtime quiz bowl player, ran statistics for his own quiz bowl team and argued for the standardization of such record keeping statewide. Unfortunately, there was not yet a broader effort to do so; there were only people who argued that the AGQBA should have better systems for recordkeeping. That is, until Jackson decided to do something about it. He created the first collaborative stat sheet in known AGQBA history and invited prominent quiz bowl coaches from across the state to join it. While this sheet focused on highlighting productive players from around the Natural State's quiz bowl scene, there was no such sheet for team statistics until Hazen High School sophomore and 7-year quiz bowler Michael Bowman, an early collaborator on the original player sheet, created its companion, the regular season team stats sheet. Friends of Quiz Bowl board members Patti Bottoms (Sacred Heart) and former HSNCT All-Star Alexander Tenace (Batesville/UArk) as well as AGQBA Board Member Allen Bishop (Mountain View) also appreciated the idea and are in the process of promoting it to their respective organizations. Our hope is, one day, there won't be any need for this site, because the AGQBA and FOQB will have made an easy-to-find, easy-to-reach place to store player and team statistics through the regular season and postseason.
