  • What happened in the story?

  • How does the character feel in this story (and/or picture)?

  • Does this remind you of something in your own life? Tell me about it.

  • When and where does the story take place?

  • Does this book remind you of any other books you've read? Tell me about it.

  • Do you like the main character? Why or why not?

  • What problem does the main character face in this story? How do they solve the problem?

  • Could this story could be true? Why or why not?

Spelling

To help your child learn their spelling words give them time to practice reading and writing them (uncovered). When they are ready, test them on their words by removing the list from their view and reading each word aloud. These tests can be done in their spelling book.

Sight Words

Help your child learn their sight words and progress to the next level by getting them to read the list of words to you. Once they have read each word, choose words at random and ask them to point to those words.
