Students start the year borrowing 1 book at a time and then move on to 2 books at a time.
Books that are lost or damaged beyond repair will need to be paid for so they can be replaced.
If you believe a book is lost, please contact your child's librarian.
Students have learned how to take care of their library books. Please review the following book care expectations with your child.
Mrs. Karolczak has been teaching since 2004 & has taught in District 73 since 2015. She obtained her B.S. in Elementary Education from Valparaiso University in 2004 and her M.S. in Instructional Technology from Northern Illinois University in 2007. She holds an endorsement in Library Science and is also verified in Gifted Education. Before becoming a Library Information Specialist, Mrs. Karolczak taught 4th grade, 1st Grade, and Kindergarten. She is passionate about developing a life long love of reading and inquiry in her students, as well as building a foundation of skills in digital citizenship and research.
Ms. Riley joined the District 73 LMS team in 2018 at Aspen. She is a licensed K-8 teacher with a Master's Degree in Educational Technology as well as Library Information Specialist and Technology Specialist endorsements. She loves working in the library because she gets to help students grow into lifelong readers and learners!
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and doing lots of different activities, such as going to see movies, trying new restaurants, camping, or just staying in for a game night. She also reads a variety of materials for fun, professional development, and to keep up with children's literature.
