It’s tough to know just what our kids will need to face their futures. So in Career / Technology Education (CTE), the emphasis is on 21st Century skills.

In my CTE classes, my goals are to:

  • teach students how to make healthy lifestyle choices,
  • practice positive communication skills to build strong relationships,
  • prepare young people to enter the workplace in a fulfilling career, and
  • provide service learning opportunities to grow character and citizenship.

I believe all of us need to develop in these areas to be happy, and that’s my hope for all my students.

I have lived in Hawley for 34 years and will begin my 27th year of teaching here with the 2019-20 school year. Both my son, Arthur (2003), and daughter, Julia (2005), are Hawley ISD graduates. My husband, Frank, and I live out in the “shinnery” with our two dogs, a small herd of goats, and a flock of chickens. Folks who know me best know I love this outdoor, country life!
