1: CREATE YOUR UH ACCOUNT 💻
Create your UH account so we can stay in touch with you:
You must first create your UH username (click “Get A UH Username”) and then follow the directions prompted on the website.
Your UH Username account gives you access to the following: Student Email, MyUH Services, STAR GPS, SECE, and Lamakū.
Note: Advisors are limited on what they may discuss with you via email if you use a non-@hawaii.edu email address.
2: SUBMIT INTENT TO ENROLL & TUITION DEPOSIT💲
Confirm your attendance at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa by submitting your $200 tuition deposit online: https://tntprod.its.hawaii.edu/manoa/tuitiondeposit/
Completing your intent to enroll and tuition deposit will allow you to:
register for classes
schedule an academic advising appointment
Note: submission of your intent to enroll and tuition deposit may not immediately update your account. Please allow 2 business days for your account to update. If it has been 2 business days and your STAR profile is not updated, please contact our Office of Admissions for assistance: manoa.admissions@hawaii.edu.
3: SUBMIT HEALTH CLEARANCE⚕️
Our campus has partnered with Med+Proctor for the clearance of Health Immunization Records: https://manoa.hawaii.edu/registrar/registration/health-clearance-requirements/
🚨The health clearance hold will prevent you from registering for in-person and hybrid classes until resolved.🚨
Note:
Med+Proctor takes some time to review your submitted form. Please budget enough time to submit your health clearance prior to your registration date.
You do not need to pay for the Med+Proctor platform. The payment is if you wish to expedite the review process and want to continue accessing your records through the platform.
4: SUBMIT FINAL DOCUMENTS 📃
You must submit your final documents to the UHM Office of Admissions:
Final official high school and/or college transcripts (with graduation date and final grades)
Official test scores (optional)
Log in to the respective exam’s website and request your scores be sent to the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
Note: these scores do not transfer with you from your previous institution, so you will need to send them directly to the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa:
A document is considered official only if it is sent directly by the issuing high school, college, or testing agency to the Office of Admissions by email (digital) or postal mail.

5: PREPARE YOUR CLASS SCHEDULE ✔️📋
New student registration dates:
Fall semester registration period: Mid-July
Spring semester registration period: Late November
Create your class schedule and register for classes online through our standard registration system called STAR GPS.
STAR GPS guides students to timely graduation by combining student history with their academic program information, creating a graduation pathway. Be sure to have the following, in order to register for classes:
Have your UH username (see to-do item #1)
Confirm eligibility - you’ve been officially offered your admission to the University and paid your tuition deposit (see to-do item #2)
Know your registration appointment time - you will be assigned an appointment time which can be found in STAR GPS. You can begin registering on the date indicated in STAR until the first week of classes.
Clear any holds
Meet with your academic advisor
You can schedule an appointment with an advisor through STAR Balance. If you need further assistance, here is a video tutorial for you to reference.
Log into your STAR account to access your unofficial transcript(s).
Once you are logged in, look for the Transcripts link at the top menu.
You will want to verify if all of your previous institutions and courses are listed on the unofficial transcript.
Do any of your courses say "Detailed Syllabus Required" instead of listing a specific UH Mānoa course equivalency? If yes, collect the syllabi for any courses marked with this notation and email them to the Office of Admissions (manoa.admissions@hawaii.edu) for evaluation.
Do any of your courses say "To Department for Review" instead of listing a specific UH Mānoa course equivalency? If yes, the Office of Admissions received syllabi to review for the course(s) labeled "To Department for Review." The department is currently reviewing the syllabi to determine equivalency. Once reviewed, the equivalency will be updated on the STAR transcript.
Please allow 4-6 weeks for your transcript to be evaluated. If it has been more than 6 weeks, please contact the Office of Admissions to inquire about the status (manoa.admissions@hawaii.edu).
Math and Chemistry Placement Exams determine whether students have the background to begin in the required chemistry and math courses for their major, or if they need additional review in the form of preparatory courses.
The Math and Chemistry Placement Exams do not waive or give credit for any degree requirements.
You can review the major’s requirements in the University’s Catalog to determine if you need math or chemistry.
Second language: some majors require a second language for graduation. If you have a background in a language other than English (through formal instruction and/or speaking it at home), you should take a placement exam to place into an appropriate level of language study to potentially be eligible for back credits.
You can learn how to schedule your placement exam by using the link provided below and navigating to the appropriate subject tab.
