Laulima Lessons allows you to insert your content and bring all of the other tools you may use in Laulima into one page for students to have immediate access to the week's objectives and tasks. Laulima Lessons are useful for all classes whether it's face-to-face, hybrid, distance-delivered, or distance education (DE).
You have the ability to organize and format a single lesson, or weekly objective page to your liking. Below are samples of how a class views their weekly expectations, and tasks on a single Lessons page.
Lessons allows you to easily add your own text, but if you have a specific website, or have designed custom webpages for a week's objective, or a specific day objective, you have the ability to embed the link into the Lessons page to be viewed as a whole page. If you own the webpages, it is easiest to upload the webpages into the Resource folder and to embed it through the Resource folder.
Although students will have access to the different navigation tools that you setup in Laulima, it can be convenient for students to see a direct link to a forum activity, content link, assignment link, or a test on the week or day's objective page. A tool that a majority of students fine useful and choose to use is a checklist tool. Providing a checklist on the Lessons page allows students to check off items completed and will stay checked off after they have logged off.
Some of your activities may involve the use of a Google Doc, Google Slide, or Google Sheet. You can easily embed the Google element into a Lessons page so that students can directly access the Google element from the lesson's page. They are also allowed to open the Google element in another window.
If you normally use the Laulima Syllabus tool to embed your syllabus, you can use Laulima Lessons instead. A Lessons page is most convenient especially if you have an activity associated with your syllabus. A Lessons page will allow you to embed a direct link to the activity as shown above, or you can also add a question if that is a part of your activity.
When you are finished adding your Lessons Tools, you will be taken to the confirmation site tools edit page. On this page you will see all of the Lessons Tools that you have just added. Click on Finish. The last step is to customize your Lessons pages for your students.
