Applicants and Referrers
The letter of recommendation must be submitted by a professional or community member who knows the applicant well, can provide information about a student's barrier/challenges, and can attest to a student's dedication to the educational process.
An application will be considered incomplete and will only be evaluated once the applicant and referral forms are received.
Scholars must complete Part I: 2023-2024 Scholarship Application and
Provide their referrers with the link to Part II: 2023-2024 Referral Application.
Complete and submit both documents by the priority scholarship deadline, which is May 22, 2023. *Late applications may be accepted and considered if there are funds available.
Program Eligibility
Eligibility for the program is limited to Hawaiʻi Island Residents who:
Receives acceptance to Hawaiʻi Community College and qualifies for resident tuition.
Is a non-college-bound student who cannot attend college without this scholarship.
Has no previous or minimal college experience (Less than 12 credits).
Has a strong recommendation from a professional or community member.
