Library Day is Wednesday.
Homework and Spelling is given out and tested on Fridays (please return poem book and spelling notebook to school on this day).

Week 10
Happy Easter!
Room 5 made some bouncy Easter bunnies! They also did a Easter egg hunt and lots of fun Easter activities.
Construction day!
Check out Room 5's awesome constructions. They worked together very well and used a range of materials to build and construct their ideas!
Week 9
CHEF DAY IN ROOM 5!
Room 5 had such a fun day on Thursday! We did lots of interactive, fun and engaging activities which all related to cooking, baking and being a chef. We made very yummy Anzac biscuits and made some awesome chef hats! We all had an awesome day full of fun, smilies, laughter and some yummy treats! Thanks to all the parents who brought ingredients, cook books and utensils! You all rock!!
Week 8
Practicing our place value knowledge!
Awesome work Zack, Renzo and Haru who have been working super hard to develop their place value knowledge.
Great work Kash and Maeva!
Kash is always ready and prepared for learning and Maeva has worked extra hard to use describing words in her writing.

Week 7
Awesome work Zack and Azlyn!
Azyln received a certificate this week for having positive attitude in class. Zack received a certificate for sharing great ideas during class discussions. Keep up the great work!
Room 5 showing their love and respect towards Christchurch.
Room 5 took part in the Paper Doll Project to raise awareness about the importance of cultural diversity. We all designed a paper doll which represents who we are and on the back we wrote small messages to show our love, support and respect towards the tragic incident that took place. Kia Kaha Christchurch!
Week 6
Science experiment!
Room 5 did an awesome science experiment this week and we wrote great recounts about what we saw and felt.

Eddy has been working very hard to achieve our writing goal this week of using labels in our picture plan! Ingrid has had a great week and contributed lots of awesome ideas during maths! Keep up the great work!

Izzy has been working extra hard this week to form her letters correctly! Janice has constantly been organised and ready for learning! Awesome work girls!
Week 5
Room 5 had an awesome week! We engaged in lots of fun activities relating to the sea and ocean!

Week 4
Swimming sports!
Room 5 did amazing in the Year 2 swimming sports. All students had a very positive attitude and they all tried their hardest. It was great seeing all students applying their new swimming skills and confidence into action.
Room 5 freestyle swimmers.
Well done to Kash, Charlie, Mila, Maeva and Gwen who all competed in the freestyle swim! They all completed one lap of the pool without stopping!

Kash swam against four other swimmers in the swimming sports freestyle final. He did an amazing job and placed 1st equal!
Week 3
Congratulations to Gwen and Vivian.
Well done to Gwen and Vivian for working extra hard at school this week. They both received a certificate at our whole school assembly.

Well done to Phyllis and Benjamin for working extra hard during writing this week. They both received their certificates at our Junior assembly for working towards our writing focus this week.
Team building.
This week in Room 5 we did a team building activity where the class had to work in small groups to build a tower out of marshmallows and toothpicks. It was great to see the groups working together and sharing ideas to help build the most effective and stable structure.
Week 2
Safe walking with Constable Murray.
We had a great lesson with Constable Murray learning about road safety. We all learnt very important skills to ensure we are always safe when crossing roads.
Learning new swimming skills.
We had two very good sessions in the pool. All the children are developing confidence in the pool and are learning new swimming techniques.
Week 1: Meet our busy bees in action!
We have had a great first week getting to know each other. It was a very successful and fun week and have all worked very hard!
Room 5 are definitely all busy little bees!
