This is our Bloxels game, based on the Star Wars movie "The New Hope"'s blowing up the Death Star. It involves Luke Skywalker going through the Death Star then activating a self destructing sequence. Then he runs our on an anti-gravity bridge to get back to the rebel ship. Then they all fly away to a planet far away.
There are many things that I learned in this project, like how you need to wait patiently for the screen to scan the blocks. But something more importantly is that of learning of planing ahead. I rarely plan ahead so I did it this time so we wouldn't lose space.
There are many standards to be tied into this project. I choose Creative Communicator because this project had us show parts of the world in creative. For example the space bridge had no gravity so we used the jets to fling the player around.
One of the many challenges we had was stage creation. We had trouble with making the stages connect and have it so you could not skip areas. So we decided to use doors and make the rooms closed so that we didn't have people cheat and skip.
One thing I would do differently is making the background different. We could be on Tatooine farming or on Hoth holding off a onslaught of storm troopers. This would give us a better environment than that of the space of space.
There can be many of career connections made to this project. The one I am using is Game Environment Creator. The reason I chose this is because they make the detailed items for the environment, like the tiny holes in the battlefield of an important war or a secret area with enemies and a new character or item, kind of like what we did in our project.
