My name is Halie Serbent and I'm a pediatric, neurodiversity-affirming SLP located in White Plains, NY. I specialize in Gestalt Language Processing (how most autistic children learn language) and AAC.
I have experience in the outpatient, private, early intervention, and school settings (preschool, elementary, and high school). I have worked with children ages 1-21 with a variety of diagnoses, including speech sound disorders, Apraxia, stuttering, expressive and receptive language delays, intellectual disability, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and Down Syndrome.
I have always valued the importance of family collaboration, involvement and education. Children benefit most when the most important people in their lives know how to best support their language development. Providing parent coaching and in-home services allows me to achieve this by working 1:1 with both the child and parent.
No matter where you and your child are in your journey, I am here to help you keep moving forward.
After school hours now available! See 'for more information' below to contact me.

"I have and will always consider Halie the best speech pathologist we’ve encountered thus far. Her knowledge, understanding, playfulness, & overall character allows her to go above and beyond for her clients. As a mom, it’s a difficult road but Halie made it so much easier for us and many other families we’ve encountered along the way who have nothing but positive words about Ms. Halie." - A. Solla, 2023
"We worked with Halie for only a few months but during that time she was able to evaluate our son, assess that his current AAC program was not effective and helped us find a program to better suit his needs. She was also able to give us phrases to help our son communicate more effectively. She is very knowledgeable about the AAC device and was able to edit and modify the program to be more accessible and interesting to our son. Overall, she is very knowledgeable, responsive, professional, communicative, and punctual. She would be a great asset to any parent struggling with an AAC device, struggling to make progress with their autistic child, or just trying to navigate through terms like gestalt language processor and what that means for their child." - L. Lucid, 2023
"Halie was a lifesaver as a speech therapist. She is very knowledgeable about AAC devices and Gestalt language processing, which is why I initially sought her out. She went above and beyond filling out paperwork and completing the AAC device and insurance company process and my autistic son had his device very quickly. She is a very motivated teacher and a receptive listener. She played a key part in our son early language development and as a parent I found her a true ray of sunshine in a challenging time!" - S. Boice, 2024
