Firstly, if you're looking at this page it's because you'll be joining our family here at Outwood Academy Hasland Hall in September 2026; welcome!
The transition from primary school to secondary can be daunting, but we hope that the information below, as well as our transition days in June / July, will help students to settle in and feel part of our community. We will share lots of information over the coming weeks and this site is the best place to check for updates, forthcoming events and general enquiries.

This year, our transition days will take place on 30th June 2026 and 1st July 2026. Students will need to attend the academy each day and will need to wear their normal primary school uniform.

Students will need to bring their usual school bag with them; this should include their pencil case, PE kit, water bottle and any other items they may need during the day.
Students will need to arrive at the academy from 8:30am on both days, but no later than 8:45am, as their day will start at 8:50am.
There are two entrances for students to use; one gate is on Broomfield Avenue and the other is on Mansfield Road. During transition days, please go to the main reception if the gates are closed.
Once students are on site, there will be plenty of staff around to direct students to where they need to be at the start of each day.
Both days will end at 2:45pm and all students will leave via the Broomfield Avenue gate. Please complete this form to indicate if your child has consent to make their own way home or will be collected.

Students will need to bring their usual school bag with them; this should include their pencil case, water bottle and any other items they may need during the day. Please let us know via the transition@haslandhall.outwood.com if your child needs to bring any medication with them for the transition days or if any speacial requirements are required. If your child wishes to have a school meal, please register for iPay, using the details sent to you, and add £10 to their account; this amount should cover both days of transition. Alternatively, if they do not want a school meal, please send your child with a packed lunch.

Parents' Information Evening
Parents' Information Evening
You will be invited to attend our parents' information evening on the 30th June 2026; the first presentation will be at 5pm, it will then be repeated at 6pm. There will be a presentation by our Principal, Ian Cooper; this will take place in the Old Gym and will be an opportunity for you as parents to get to know us, our expectations, meet key staff and ask any questions you may have. Please complete this form to indicate which session you wish to attend.
Uniform collection will also take place on the 30th June 2026 following the presentation. If you are unable to attend the presentation evening, please let us know and we can arrange for your child to bring their uniform bundle home with them.
There will be an opportunity for uniform to be exchanged, if needed, at our exchange event at the academy on the 13th July 2026 - again timings for this event will be shared as soon as possible.
