10th Grade College Planning

Fall

• Read school bulletin boards frequently for internship and scholarship postings

• Start to explore careers you may find interesting by interviewing adults around you that may be currently working in those occupational fields

• Visit your school counselor and ask questions

• Continue to develop your study skills and maintain or improve your GPA

• Begin or continue to participate in extracurricular activities

Spring

• When meeting with your school counselor, examine your academic and post-secondary goals and make plans to achieve them by graduation

• Stay in communication with your counselor about courses you would like to take during your junior year

• Evaluate scholarships you can apply to now

• Practice Makes Perfect - continue on the path towards strong study habits

• Utilize Naviance to start your research on college and career choices

• Attend and participate in college and career field trips offered during the school year
