Founded in 1638, the historic Hartford Public High School services students in grades 9-12 in the greater Hartford, CT community. It is the second-oldest public secondary school in the United States.

The historic Hartford Public High School (HPHS) was founded in 1638 and is the second oldest public high school in the country. HPHS offers a challenging and inspiring program of education to students in grades 9-12. HPHS is a learner-centered environment where adults and students thrive in an equitable culture with high expectations that comprehensively prepare every student for college and career success.

I am proud to lead a highly qualified staff that prepares our graduates to be productive citizens and lifelong learners. All of our efforts are coordinated to ensure students acquire marketable skills, have multiple opportunities to earn industry-recognized credentials for careers, and also gain secondary and postsecondary education, training, and support services.
