If your parents work for a large company, sometimes the company has scholarships for the children of their employees. Ask them.

Check with your parent's work, your church or other organization you belong to.

Talk to local businesses (in person). Some of them will have scholarships which they will use for advertising to promote themselves.

Ask your relatives. Do they know of a business who has a scholarship opportunity?

Once accepted into your secondary educational institute, the financial aid office will have a list of scholarship opportunities to explore.

SANTA CLARITA VALLEY ACSA 2021 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION


The Santa Clarita Valley Association of California School Administrators (SCV ACSA) is a formal group of elementary, junior high, and high school administrators from all school districts in the Santa Clarita Valley. Our scholarship is designed to provide for the future, as well as to connect with the past. The recipients of the scholarships will each be awarded $500.00. We will be awarding 14 scholarships in total, with up to two seniors being selected from each of the six comprehensive high schools.


Criteria:


• Applicants must have attended Santa Clarita Valley schools for at least seven years, including at least one year at a public elementary school in the Santa Clarita Valley.


• Applicants must have already applied for admittance into a trade school, community college, and/or four-year college/university.


• Applicants must have a current Unweighted GPA of at least 2.5

Graduating high school seniors are eligible to apply for the hundreds of available scholarships to be awarded for the 2021-22 academic year to students training to become automotive, heavy duty or collision repair technicians, as well as those studying IT/cybersecurity, engineering, accounting, business or other courses of study. Each completed application is considered for all scholarships where the student meets the qualifications.

Who Qualifies for this Scholarship?

* Full time students at an accredited U.S. college or university or an ASE/NATEF Certified post-secondary automotive, heavy duty, or collision repair school

* Graduating high school seniors planning to be full time students at any of the above

* No GPA requirement

Your complete scholarship application will be automatically considered by the University of the Aftermarket Foundation (UAF). In addition, it will also be considered by several other organizations if you meet their scholarship requirements. So, a complete application may give you the opportunity to compete for several different scholarship awards. Please see the website for specific requirements for each organization’s awards.

Are you interested to learn about Artificial Intelligence? If so, AI Camp would like to offer full and partial scholarships to interested students to learn about AI.

ZONTA CLUB OF SANTA CLARITA VALLEY - YOUNG WOMEN IN PUBLIC AFFAIRS AWARD

Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley is offering Young Women in Public Affairs (YWPA) Awards to outstanding young women. Three winning applicants who attend local high schools or colleges and are 16-19 years of age on Thursday, April 1, 2021 will receive an award up to $1,000.

The 1st place winner will also have the potential to progress to Zonta’s District 9 award of $1,500 and Zonta International’s award of $5,000.

YWPA awards are presented to young women who demonstrate their leadership skills and are committed to public service and civic causes. Applicants who demonstrate evidence of the following are eligible to apply: 

– Active commitment to volunteerism

– Experience in local government, student government, or workplace leadership (paid or unpaid)

– Volunteer leadership achievements

– Knowledge of Zonta International and its programs

– Support for Zonta International’s mission of empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy.

2021 Foundation 649 Scholarship

The Foundation 649 Scholarship is a one-time grant of $2,000 that can be applied to college tuition. The aim of our scholarship is to promote and share Asian American culture and stories from students across the country.

Details

  • Five recipients will be selected

  • Each recipient will receive a one-time award of $2,000 USD

  • Application deadline is April 1, 2021

  • 10 entrants will be selected as finalists for two video call interviews by May 15, 2021

  • Recipients are announced by June 15, 2021

Requirements

  • Be a degree-seeking, full-time student enrolling in a U.S. accredited university in Fall 2021 as a Freshman

  • One or both parents/guardians immigrated to the US from East or South-East Asia

  • Have demonstrated financial need for the scholarship

  • Have a track record of involvement and interest in Asian American communities, issues, or causes

  • Be a US citizen, resident or foreign national

Application

The application consists of a questionnaire and a short essay (1000 word maximum). Creativity is welcome - alternate media will also be accepted in place of the essay if the applicant chooses (e.g. film, photography, etc.). If you are selected as a recipient, with your permission, we plan to share your submission with our audiences.

The Backer Family Scholarship Program

The Santa Clarita Valley Education Foundation is proud to invest in the educators of the future. Since 1995 the foundation has awarded over $500,000 in scholarship funds to local graduating high school students who have demonstrated an interest in pursuing a career related to education.


Any senior interested in pursuing a major or a career in education as a full-time student at a four-year university or a two-year community college is eligible to apply for this scholarship. Life Reimagined Ventures Scholarship

Each year, Life Reimagined Ventures award $500 in scholarships to high-achieving, high school students who have been affected in some way by the increasing prevalence of mental health challenges.

The Elevate Mental Health Awareness scholarship was created in honor of my mom, a wonderfully inspiring and compassionate woman who struggled with mental health and took her own life in 2017. California Credit Union is pleased to announce their Annual Student Scholarship program is now available.

The credit union will award 10 students with a scholarship of $1,000 each. High school seniors and community college students transferring to a four-year university who maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0 are eligible to participate. Little Bundle is awarding $1,000 to high school students of single dads and single moms through the Little Bundle Superdad Scholarship and Little Bundle Supermom Scholarship.

We want to support the many single fathers who sacrifice for their children.

To be eligible to apply, you have to be a senior with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. You must be planning on attending a community college, four year college or university, trade or technical school or an apprenticeship program after graduation. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Annual Talent Hunt

The members of Omicron Mu Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity are asking for your assistance in identifying and encouraging college-bound, high school seniors to participate in this year’s International High School Essay Contest. This Essay Contest is part of our Annual International Achievement Week Observance.

Omega Psi Phi is an international fraternity with over 750 undergraduate and graduate chapters. The fraternity was founded on November 17, 1911 by three Howard University juniors, and their faculty adviser. It was the first international fraternal organization founded on the campus of a historically black college.

Four College Scholarship Awards, ranging from $5,000 to $1,000 will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Place Winners. The PDF file attached to this letter that will fully describe how the contest works, including information on the following:

Essays should not to be sent to the Fraternity’s Headquarters facility and will be considered ineligible, if received there. The name of the sponsoring chapter and location of the chapter must appear on the first page of the essay.

CSUN Engineering: American Sociey of Civil Engineers

The California State University, Northridge American Society of Civil Engineers (CSUN ASCE) Student Chapter would like to share an opportunity with the students of Saugus High School.

CSUN ASCE is hosting a virtual event on September 22nd at 6 pm for high-school students interested in pursuing engineering. These students will have the opportunity to hear from university students professionally engaged in the engineering industry from distinguished schools across California! There will be approximately 12 student interns eager to answer their questions about various engineering disciplines.

The event will include presentations, a Q&A session, prizes, and a chance to win a $100 scholarship! If you are interested in applying for the scholarship, an essay must be submitted by Saturday, September 19. We have attached a google interest form for any student that wants to attend the free, virtual event. It also has information on how to apply for the scholarship. CSUN ASCE would like to help the students that are beginning to apply to college decide if a career in engineering would interest them.

Interested in a career in Engineering?

My name is Priya Talreja, and I am the Outreach Chair for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) at UC Davis. This Fall, SWE is hosting a 10 week long mentorship program to support female and non-binary high school seniors who are interested in applying to engineering majors. There will be weekly sessions with UC Davis College of Engineering advisors, faculty, current students, and alumni, as well as smaller group mentorship sessions with current engineering students to help answer questions and provide individualized support. The program will run from September 24th to November 22nd and is open to high school seniors who identify as female or non-binary.

The Elks National Foundation (ENF) has kicked off the 2021 scholarship year. Here are the details!

Most Valuable Student (MVS) Contest:

The 2021 MVS application is now open. Applications can be found online at enf.elks.org/MVS. The application deadline is November 15th.

The Elks National Foundation (ENF) awards 500 four-year scholarships based on academics, leadership, and financial need. National awards range from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year. The national awards will announced in April 2021.

MVS scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), at a U.S. college or university next school year. Some important applicant details include:

Current high school seniors (or equivalent) who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply.

Applicants do not have to be related to a member of the Elks.

Male and female students compete separately.

Applicants select from a list of the Lodges closest to their home address zip code. Please have your students choose Santa Clarita #2379 as their sponsoring Lodge. Complete details can be found at enf.elks.org/MVS.
