On the 7th of November our school hosted a memorable Honours Evening, shining a spotlight on the outstanding achievements of our learners. The event was a celebration of hard work, perseverance, and academic excellence, as learners were recognised for their exceptional contributions to their learning and the school community. The night was filled with pride and inspiration, as awards were handed out to learners who demonstrated dedication to their studies and commitment to going above and beyond expectations.
A special congratulations goes to Bonifacio (Year 13), who was honoured with the prestigious Headteacher’s Award for his exceptional effort and dedication. His achievement serves as a shining example of the hard work and passion that drives success at our school.
A heartfelt thank you also goes out to the parents and guardians who attended the event and showed their unwavering support for their children. Your encouragement makes a world of difference in fostering an environment where learners can thrive.
This holiday season, we are delighted to share how Romea and Elizabeth have brought their creativity and festive spirit to our reception area. The two students graciously volunteered their time to decorate our Christmas tree, transforming the space into a welcoming and cheerful environment.
Their efforts have truly brightened up our reception, making it a warm and inviting place for all who enter. We are incredibly grateful for their kindness and generosity in offering their time to make our reception look so beautiful.
Well done, Romea and Elizabeth – your hard work and festive spirit are greatly appreciated!

On the final day of term, learners embraced the festive spirit by wearing their favourite Christmas jumpers. Each student donated £1 to a charity fundraiser, and our school captains took the lead in collecting the contributions. All funds raised will go to the Malala Fund.
The Malala Fund works to ensure that girls around the world have access to quality education. By participating, our learners showed their generosity and helped support this important cause, making a positive impact on the lives of girls worldwide.

This week, our learners had an exciting time at the Scholastic Book Fair, where they explored a wide range of books at discounted prices. From adventure stories to thought-provoking biographies, there was something for everyone. Many learners were inspired to pick up I Am Malala, the powerful memoir by Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, which highlights her courageous fight for girls' education worldwide. This was particularly meaningful as we recently had the privilege of welcoming Malala to Harrow High on 10th July 2024, where she celebrated ‘Malala Day’ and raised awareness about the challenges faced by girls in Afghanistan who are denied an education.
The fair, which ran from 2nd December all week in the school library, was a fantastic event that allowed learners and staff to explore a wide selection of books and educational resources. With options for every age and interest, there was something for everyone! As in previous years, the fair offered half-price books, making it the perfect time to pick up holiday gifts.
We hope everyone took advantage of this fantastic event and left with books that will bring joy and inspiration throughout the holiday season!

On Thursday, 5th December 2024, Year 11 learners had the opportunity to experience Sixth Form or Harrow College's Taster Day.
Harrow College Taster Day:
A group of 51 learners participated in a variety of sessions hosted by Harrow College staff in subjects such as Art & Digital Media, Science, Hair & Beauty, and Construction.
Sixth Form Taster Day:
The rest of Year 11 experienced a full day at the Sixth Form. They began with registration and received a personalised timetable, reflecting their chosen subjects as well as sessions in Personal Development and the common room.
Both days offered valuable insights into their future educational options and allowed learners to experience life at both Harrow College and HHS Sixth Form.
We look forward to seeing how these experiences help shape their future decisions!

On Saturday 9th November 2024, four of our cadets had the distinct honour of representing Harrow High CCF and Harrow School CCF in the prestigious Lord Mayor’s Show. Being selected for this event is a major achievement, and their participation was a testament to the hard work, discipline, and pride they bring to the CCF. It was a remarkable opportunity to showcase their skills and dedication on such a prominent stage.
The following day, Sunday 10th November, nine of our learners took part in the Remembrance Day parade and service. They marched alongside Harrow School cadets to pay their respects to those who have served and sacrificed for our country. Their involvement reflected the core values of remembrance, respect, and community spirit, with the cadets demonstrating strong leadership and unity as they honoured this important occasion.
We are incredibly proud of all our cadets who represented Harrow High CCF this weekend. Their dedication to service and respect for tradition shone through in both of these meaningful events.

Please remember to pack your child's inhaler if they have asthma, or an EpiPen if they have allergies.
It is important that these medical essentials are kept in their school bag in case of an emergency. If your child requires either of these items, we kindly ask that you double-check they have them with them each day, and notify the school of any specific medical instructions or updates regarding their condition.

The holidays are an ideal time to replenish any uniform items your child has out grown or lost. All children are expected to wear the complete Harrow High School.
White polo shirt and navy jumpers must have the school logo. They are available from Pullens, 48-50 Church Road, Stanmore, HA7 4AH. You can also order them online at www.uniform4kids.com but please order early to allow time for delivery.
As the weather changes children should be wearing coats. We ask that they are of a dark colour (preferably navy or black) with some fluorescent strips. No coat should be obviously branded. For additional warmth, children are allowed to wear base-layers in white, navy or black underneath their uniform. Woollen hats, scarves and gloves are permitted, once again in dark colours. Girls can wear either skirts or trousers. Skirts must be between the knee and ankle.
Please make sure that all uniform items are clearly labelled with your child's name.
We are encouraging all our parents and carers to make sure that they have access to our Parent Portal & App. The Parent Portal and App are key ways for school to communicate with you.
If you have not downloaded the App or accessed the Portal, please contact the ICT Team (ictteam@harrowhigh.com) at Harrow High School who will help you set up your accounts.
The following article will help you get started: Log into the Parent Portal and the Parent App.
