INTRODUCTION
Congratulations, you are planning to attend college after high school! Here is a starting point to help you finance your college education. The included resources are not the only scholarships available by any stretch of the imagination!!
As students receive scholarship awards we ask that you report it to the school so we can recognize their accomplishments at our senior awards night
Scholarship Tips
Check requirements, eligibility, and deadlines before you apply!
Check with local organizations for possible scholarship opportunities. You may find something we didn't know existed!
Check with your parent/guardian's employer for possible scholarship opportunities. Many large employers offer scholarships to children of employees.
Give recommenders at least two weeks to write a letter on your behalf - help them out and provide them with a Brag Sheet & Resume!
Contact your counselor if you need a copy of your transcript and at least two weeks before needed.
Request official ACT (ACT.org) and/or SAT (collegeboard.org) scores if needed and provide time for scores to be sent.
Use a personal email NOT your @harnettstudents when applying; emails not from HCS are blocked.
Watch out for scams! Do not apply for a scholarship that asks you to pay to apply
