Welcome to Pre- k, the beginning of your child's learning journey starts here at Harmony! 

 While your child is having fun through circle time, play based learning, and table time, they will be learning all of these core subjects that they will be able to build onto more through each grade on. Pre-k is the Grade that lays the foundation into your child's education.   

Here's a more detailed breakdown of all the contents will cover:

• Social and Emotional Development: Focuses on building positive relationships, self-regulation, and communication skills. 

• Emergent Literacy: This includes:

Language and Communication: Developing vocabulary, listening skills, and the ability to express themselves.

Reading: Introducing concepts of print, phonological awareness (sounds in words), and early literacy skills. 

Writing: Encouraging pre-writing skills, such as drawing and scribbling, and developing fine motor skills. 

• Mathematics: Explores numbers, shapes, sizes, classifying, sorting, and matching. 

• Science: Covers physical science (properties of objects), life science (plants and animals), and earth and space science (basic weather patterns). 

• Social Studies: Introduces family and community, basic geography, and simple historical concepts. 

• Fine Arts: Encourages creativity and expression through music, art, and movement. 

• Physical Development: Promotes gross and fine motor skills through active play and exploration. 

• Technology: Introduces basic technology concepts and skills. 

These subjects are integrated into a variety of learning activities, including play, exploration, and structured learning experiences Which will be implemented into these units through the year.
