Aryabhatta Ganit Challenge
To encourage joyful learning and strengthen mathematical thinking among students, a range of interactive and skill-based activities were conducted across grades. These activities focused on developing core mathematical concepts through real-life applications, hands-on exploration, and collaborative problem-solving.
Math Market
A hands-on activity where students played the role of shoppers and shopkeepers in a pretend market. Using play money, they bought and sold items like fruits, toys, or stationery while practising addition, subtraction, budgeting, and money management. Extension: For older students, 5- and 6-digit numbers were used to increase complexity.
Outcome: Boosted real-life math application and communication skills.
Magic Number Cards
Students drew two cards (numbered 1–10) and mentally added or subtracted them. Twists such as time limits and odd/even-only rules added excitement.
Focus: Quick calculation, number sense, and confidence in mental math.
Roll the Dice
Each student rolled two dice and performed addition, subtraction, and multiplication on the resulting numbers.
Objective: Strengthen arithmetic fluency through kinesthetic learning.
UNO Race to 50
A mental math game using UNO cards where players aimed to reach exactly 50 by drawing 2 3 cards per turn and adding their values. Busting by exceeding 50 led to restarting from zero.
Skills Practised: Addition, number strategies, and skip counting.
Math Bingo – Solve & Dab
Students solved addition and subtraction problems called out by the teacher to find and mark answers on a Bingo grid.
Goal: Reinforce fact fluency and promote accuracy under time constraints.
Mental Math Rapid Fire
A quick-response group activity where students answered oral math questions in turn. House points were awarded for correct responses.
Benefit: Enhanced focus, listening skills, and speed in calculations.
Math Housie
Students received “house tickets” with random numbers. They identified and circled multiples (e.g., of 6) or primes between 1–20 as prompted.
Learning Outcome: Recognition of number properties in a game-based format.
Kaprekar's Mystery – The Magical 6174
Students worked with any 4-digit number, arranging digits in ascending and descending order, subtracting the two, and repeating the process until they reached the number 6174.
Focus: Place-value understanding, pattern observation, and logical sequencing.
Code the Pattern
A group challenge where letters were converted into numbers using A=1, B=2, etc., and the total was calculated. The fastest accurate group was declared the winner.
Application: Introduced coding patterns and reinforced addition through decoding.
Integer War (Card Game)
Students used playing cards where red represented negative integers and black represented positive integers. Players drew three cards and multiplied the values, contributing to a group total.
Concept Reinforced: Multiplication rules for integers and team collaboration.
Exponent War
Each player drew two cards—red for the base, black for the exponent—and calculated the result. Group totals were compared.
Objective: Develop fluency in evaluating exponential expressions.
Create-a-Monster (2D and 3D)
Students used basic geometric shapes with known area and perimeter formulas to design their own monsters on paper and in 3D models.
2D Monster: Focused on area and perimeter.
3D Monster: Included volume and surface area using shapes like cubes, cuboids, cylinders,
and triangles.
Skills Covered: Measurement, shape properties, and creative integration of geometry.
Conclusion
The series of math activities successfully transformed the classroom into a lively and explorative learning environment. Students developed essential math skills while enjoying the process through engaging, hands-on experiences. These activities demonstrated that mathematics can be fun, practical, and meaningful when taught creatively.

Primary - Activity - No sugar
In line with CBSE’s initiative to promote healthy eating habits, the Primary Section conducted a vibrant “No Sugar” Awareness Drive during the CCA period today.
Students actively engaged in various creative and interactive activities designed to help them identify hidden sugars in common foods and understand the importance of healthy choices. They became “Hidden Sugar Detectives”, explored sugar facts through storytelling and videos, participated in fun games like Non-Sugar Musical Chairs, and conducted taste tests. Beautiful charts, posters, and impactful messages were also created as part of “Mission No Sugar”, adding meaning to the campaign.
The drive helped students develop awareness about hidden sugars and make mindful food choices. It also encouraged creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication all in an enjoyable and interactive learning space.
Primary - Activity - Organic shape art
Grade 1 students at RBK Hanumant High School – CBSE, Mahuva, enjoyed a fun Organic Shape Art activity using leaves, lady finger, and potato with watercolours.
They printed beautiful patterns on paper and explored natural textures.
The activity helped them recognize organic shapes and express creativity.
It also improved their fine motor skills.
A joyful and colourful learning experience!
Primary - Activity - Photosynthesis Tag
On the very first day of school, 5th June 2025, an exciting science activity called “Photosynthesis Tag” was conducted for subject Science, Grade 4 students. The activity took place outside the classroom in the open area, where children could enjoy learning in nature.
The main objective of this activity was to help students understand: What photosynthesis is how it works, and what things a plant needs to perform photosynthesis— like sunlight, water, carbon dioxide, and chlorophyll.
In this fun tag game, some students represented plants, while others acted as sunlight, water, air (carbon dioxide), and chlorophyll. The “plant” had to tag and collects all these elements to complete the process of photosynthesis.
Through this activity, students learned that plants make their own food through photosynthesis by using sunlight, water, air, and chlorophyll. This energetic game helped them visualize and understand the process in a fun and active way.
Everyone was excited and participated with great enthusiasm. The open space made the learning experience refreshing and memorable.
The “Photosynthesis Tag” activity was a perfect start to the new school year. It made learning about plants and photosynthesis easy, fun, and interactive. Students not only learned how plants make their own food but also enjoyed teamwork and movement in the fresh air.
Primary - Activity - Universe Charades
On the first day of school reopening, 5th June 2025, an exciting and fun-filled activity called “Universe Charades” was conducted in the EVS class for Grade 3 students. The activity was held in the outdoor classroom, making it even more enjoyable and refreshing.
In this activity, students acted out different space objects like the Sun, Moon, planets, stars, comets, and satellites etc., while their classmates guessed what they were. Everyone took turns and used actions, expressions, and body movements to describe the objects without speaking.
The natural setting added to the excitement, and the students felt more connected to the sky and space as they learned. The activity helped them identify and describe different objects in the universe in a playful and engaging way. It also encouraged observation skills, creativity, and teamwork.
All the students participated actively and had a lot of fun. It was a joyful beginning to the new academic year. This activity helped children learn about space in an enjoyable and interactive manner, while also celebrating the spirit of fun learning on the first day of school.
Primary - Activity - Yoga Day
Yoga Day was celebrated on 11th June 2025 with great enthusiasm and purpose by learners of Grades 3 and 4, integrating Pranayama (Anulom Vilom) with Yoga (Physical Education), Dance, Science (Green Plants) and Information and Technology (I.T.) subjects. The activity aimed to promote holistic wellness while reinforcing important interdisciplinary concepts and life values.
The celebration began with a vibrant Zumba dance session, which energized the learners and increased their oxygen intake. This was followed by the practice of Anulom Vilom Pranayama performed near green plants. Students observed that while we exhale carbon dioxide, plants inhale it and, in turn, release oxygen—emphasizing the interdependence of humans and nature.
Additionally, the concept was connected to Information and Technology by explaining how our bodies, like computers, follow input and output processes. Just as a system performs better with positive input, we too must inhale (input) positivity and exhale (output) negativity. This comparison helped students relate better to the importance of mindful breathing and emotional balance.
The session also encouraged reflection on how nature silently teaches us to stay calm, absorb positivity, release negativity, and maintain balance in life. The integration of physical, intellectual, emotional, and technological learning made the Yoga Day celebration deeply meaningful and impactful for all students.
