Pre Primary Section - GiGi's Birthday

The intelligent thoughtful and lively Olive trails mascot GIGI has turned 1 on 15th February 2021

We celebrated its birthday during the online session the Nursery kids did coloring on a worksheet of GIGI's picture. In the Jrkg class, kids made GIGI the Giraffe with hand prints and in the Srkg, the kids made a giraffe using paper and pegs. Following the activity all the learners joined in together to celebrate GIGI's Birthday where the teachers did a wonderful puppet show.

The celebration introduced the olive trails mascot, GIGI to all the students. At the end of the celebration the children made a promise to GIGI.

Pre Primary Section - Clay Modelling

Clay modeling is a great way to develop a child's fine motor skills, imagination and spark creativity.

Recap on different topics was done in the pre primary section with the help of clay. Shapes were made in the Nursery class, vowels in the Jrkg and making of a keyboard in the srkg class.

The main objective of this was to stimulate the imagination of the children and enable them to give a better showcase their creativity and develop their speaking skills.

Primary Section - Shadow Drawing

“Shadow Drawing” doesn’t mean dancing around with a paintbrush in front of light, they were not masters at drawing but at observing nature and the effects of light as well. Drawing with the light and shadow is such an easy and yet fun activity for the little kids of Grade 2 in online class on 12th February 2021. It really helped them to recognize and understand several important concepts in science. By observing the different (funny) shapes created by sunlight at different time of the day, students even became more creative.

An activity conducted to take hands-on experience by observing does the shadow stay the same? How do they change with time? Are the shadows larger, the same size or smaller than the toys?

Students learned how shadow creates, and the block part becomes a shadow on another object (on the paper).

Secondary Section - History-Map Skill Activity

Maps are an increasingly used source of information and it is therefore essential to develop map skills in students. Keeping this in mind, a map skill activity was conducted on 11th February, 2021 for the students of Grade 6.The students located important cities where temples, stupas and paintings are found. It helped them a lot to learn and understand the map skills easily.
