Primary Section - Origami Competition

Origami - Ori- meaning "folding", and kami meaning "paper" is the art of paper folding, which is often associated with Japanese culture. The goal is to transform a flat sheet square of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques. Origami competition was conducted for the students of Primary section on 20th August 2022. All students took part in this very interesting and creative contest. Students actively and keenly participated and created unique shapes and structures to showcase their talents. The topic was making a boat, tulip flower, fish, cat & frog. The students were assessed on parameters like creativity, neatness, colour -combination and overall presentation. The competition was a great success as students were full of zeal and enthusiasm.

Secondary Section - GK Quiz Competition

Great Knowledge is universal. Small knowledge is limited. Great words are inspiring, goes the saying. In order to instill a desire for general knowledge in all our students, the CCA Team Pravin Sir and Mrs. Varsha arranged a quiz on the 20th of August 2022 in the school auditorium. The students were made to sit in their respective houses. The quiz master Prashanth Sir invited the participants on stage. The participants were six in number representing their House and were from grade six to eleven .The quiz master began with words of cheer introducing each participant. The competition began at 10.50am.Quiz master read out the rules-Round one-Direct questions; First question began with love house, question passed to peace house and so went on. It was very interesting as the participants were quite knowledgeable. At 11.10 the first round came to an end with compassion house with highest scores. Second round-Buzzer round began at 11.05am.Buzzer round got over very quickly as love house and compassion house with a tie. Third round was Shoot Out Round that began at 11.11am as the members chose their leader. The third round was over by 11.20am.Mrs.Gopika and Mrs. Varsha maintained the scores carefully and Chitresh Sir was alert in keeping a track of Time. Mrs Varsha announced the winning house that is the Compassion House. Since there was a tie, there was a tie breaker between Truth House and Peace House, The quiz Master asked few more questions to both the leaders in which the Peace house won. There after, all the students lined up for Zumba led by Amit Sir. The Principal Mr.K.V Thomas was present along with Secondary coordinator Dilip Sir and other teachers. It was a very interesting quiz competition that ended at 11.30 am.

Library - An Activity on Reader's Club

RBK Hanumant High School's learning resource center- LRC has arranged a reading month to commemorate Dr. S. R. Ranganathan's 130th birthday (Father of Library Science in India). Students in the Reader's Club (Primary and Secondary) were urged to participate in the book reading challenge. Secondary pupils completed the Harry Potter series reading challenge, while primary children completed the Geronimo Stilton series reading challenge. Students read the book both in the library and at home. After one month of reading, students wrote book reviews. In the library, students reviewed the story of both series and gave the book discussion.

An Activity on Eco-Friendly Lord Ganesha

Art is the elimination of anything unnecessary’ says Pablo Picaso.In preparation for the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi, Miss Anita, Art faculty, had arranged a demonstration session of creating an eco friendly Lord Ganesh. This came as a surprise to all the students from grades 1 to 11who were asked to assemble in the auditorium on the 30th of August. Miss Anita along with Krisha of grade 9A,broght Lord Ganesh to divine shape as Yashvi of the same class, enlightened the students of the uses of eco friendly clay through the PPT. They knew that they had to eliminate the use of PLASTER OF PARIS. The students there after, showed their creativity in making idol of Lord GANESH IN DIFFERENT sizes. The students themselves were extremely happy as they carried their creation of their Creator.
