World Lions' Day Celebration

To save the lions on the planet, 10 th August was announced by UN and Government of India from 2013 as Lions' Day. Hanumant High School took the initiative to celebrate World Lions’ Day on 10 th August 2021 with students, staff members, Forest officials, NGOs’, and Gujarat government officials. On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani addressed the function through an online medium. At this point, DFO Nish Raj, Sub DFO Mr. Nevil Dhaudhry, and RFO Arpit Baraiya along with Forest Department staff members participated in the celebration and took part in the oath ceremony to save the lions. Mr. Nisarg Chauhan, a student from Grade 10, gave his message to the students to save and protect the lions. The school Principal, Dr. K.V.Thomas showed his happiness and shared his gratitude for a successful event.

Pre Primary- Activity on Community Fiesta Theme

Many festivals have religious origins and entwine cultural and religious significance in traditional activities. The most important religious festivals such as Christmas, Diwali, Eid al-Fitr serve to mark out the year. In jrkg July month theme was community fiesta .

In this first teachers explained about the different festivals with stories and videos. To add more creativity and to reinforce the topic among learners, they did different activities for Diwali they made diya from clay,for Eid decorated paper glass and for Halloween and Carnival they did a role play of ghost, clown and vampire.

This added more joy in the heart of our little ones. They truly lit up with innocent smiles and were known more about the festivals.

Primary- Activity on Fun Memories With Family

A family is very important to all of us as we learn the values of love and affection. To make the students understand about the same an activity was conducted in Grade 1 on 8th August 2021 where students collected and pasted photos of their family’s different celebrations they celebrated. The activity was very beautifully done by students.

Primary Section - Activity of Nocturnal Animals

To make students understand what “Nocturnal Animals” are an activity to draw, stick and create a scene of night on chart and gather information on nocturnal animals was conducted in Grade 2 on 8th August 2021. Students presented it very creatively and beautifully by using clay, chart papers and newspapers.

Primary Section - Activity on Paper Frog

During the Grade 2 English class, on 6th August 2021, the children learnt about the poem Hello! Hello!A poem about frogs. How frogs have fun in the pond and how animals in general have fun in their own different worlds. A subject integrated activity was conducted during the online class. English integrated with Art and Craft. The children were given a task to make paper frogs and they presented this beautifully in their own unique way.

Primary Section - Activity on Animal Habitat

A habitat is a place that an animal lives. It provides the animal with food, water and shelter. To make the students understand about different sorts of habitats around the world from forests to grasslands and from mountain slopes to deserts a project on collecting pictures on animals from old newspapers and magazines and grouping them according to their habitat as terrestrial, aquatic and amphibians was conducted in Grade 4 Science. Students were encouraged to develop a scientific fervor and an attitude of research mindedness so that they develop the qualities of analytical and critical thinking.

Secondary Section - Activity on Parts of a Circle

Circle is known as one of the basic Geometrical shape. It is round in shape. It can be drawn through a mathematical instrument known as Compass. It has various applications in our day to day life. Life would be really difficult if there are no circular objects available.

Hence in order to know the importance of Circle and its various parts an activity was carried out by the students of grade 6 on 05/08/2021. Thus by doing the activity students learnt how to represent different parts on a circle.

Secondary Section - Activity – “ ART OF THE INDUS VALLEY CIVILISATION”

The ‘Art of the Indus Valley Civilisation’ or the ‘Art of Harappan civilization’ emerged during the second half of the third millennium BCE. The forms of art found from various sites of the civilisation include sculptures, seals, pottery, jewellery, terracotta figures, etc. The artists of that time surely had fine artistic sensibilities and a vivid imagination.

So, to showcase the ‘ART OF THE INDUS VALLEY CIVILISATION’ , an online activity was conducted in Social Science class of Grade 6 on 28th July, 2021, where children became the craft person & made many beautiful & creative things with their art teacher. The activity was really interesting & fun- loving.

Secondary Section - Activity – “ Design a Mosque”

Mosque, Arabic masjid or jāmiʿ, any house or open area of prayer in Islam. Though the mosque as such has undergone many architectural changes, the building remains essentially an open space, generally roofed over, containing a miḥrāb and a minbar, with a minaret sometimes attached to it.

So, to make students understand about the design & architectural features of a mosque, an online activity was conducted in Social Science class of Grade 7 on 29th July, 2021.In this activity, students first drew the mosque & then made beautiful designs on the mosque by giving 3D effect with an outliner. The students showed their creativity & enjoyed doing this activity as it was integrated with the subject Art.
