The activity, titled “Basketball Meets the Bard,” was a unique session where students participated in a basketball game infused with Shakespearean drama and dialogue delivery. The students were divided into teams, each named after characters from Shakespeare’s plays such as Team Macbeth, Team Hamlet, Team Juliet, and Team Othello.
The rules of the game were modified to include a literary twist:
After each basket scored, a team member had to recite a famous Shakespearean line or quote.
Halftime included a "Shakespeare Slam", where each team performed a short 1-minute dramatic skit based on a scene from a Shakespeare play.
Points were awarded not only for scoring but also for clarity, creativity, and expression in delivering Shakespearean dialogue.
Primary - Activity - Addition using Domino
In this mathematics activity, we explored addition by using dominoes to create and add two-digit numbers. Each domino has two sets of dots, which we used to form numbers by placing one value in the tens place and the other in the ones place. For instance, a domino with 4 and 6 dots was used to create the number 46, while another with
2 and 5 dots formed the number 25. These numbers were then added together to find the total: 46 + 25 = 71.
Several combinations were tried using different dominoes. This exercise helped reinforce our understanding of
place value and addition of two-digit numbers in an engaging and interactive way, making the learning process
both effective and enjoyable.
