Welcome to Mrs. Serido's Fourth Grade Class!

Hello families, and welcome to Class 4S! My name is Stephanie Serido. I've enjoyed teaching in Hanover Townshop for many years and am looking forward to the many exciting learning activities planned for this year. I love to solve mysteries, just like a detective. This year your child will investigate all subjects by asking questions, looking for clues, and finding answers! As a 4th Grade Detective, your child will investigate new things in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies. As your child's teacher, I will encourage my students to always try, never give up, and have fun!

Reading

Reading is crucial to developing so many skills. Please encourage your child to read, read, read throughout the year. Fourth Graders have the opportunity to earn Reading Certificates during the year. This reading can be done in school or at home. It will be fun to track how many books the students read this year. More importantly, there is significant research supporting the notion that children who read at home do better in school. Students who are good readers also tend to be better spellers, writers, have richer vocabularies, and are more successful in the content areas of Science and Social Studies.
