Description: Art club is a during-school club for students in grades 4 and 5. Each session is held for 1 hour once a week based upon the school year schedule, running from late fall to spring. Applications for art club are available from the art teacher in the fall of each school year. Based on areas of interest each year, there are 2 different interest sessions available to apply for (fall and spring), each consisting of 12 Mondays. Session topics include but are not limited to the following: painting, sculpture, drawing, recycled art, computer art, and origami to name a few. During art club the students get more in-depth lessons and projects that aren’t always feasible in the regular art class. Approximately 10-12 students are accepted into each session. By keeping the class size smaller, students are able to receive more one-on-one attention. Becoming apart of art club does not require attendance of every meeting but is strongly recommended in order to complete artwork. Any missed days cannot be made up in subsequent session
