Extended Enrichment Learning

Overall goal for the program: Increase student academic achievement in reaching postsecondary educational and career goals by establishing and maintaining support mechanisms for all students and providing rigorous and fulfilling academic and extended enrichment learning programs designed to both challenge and extend the potential of every student and prepare them for success in a globally competitive environment.

Strategies:

  • Expose students through Academic/Career Project Based Learning experience to self exploration, career awareness, and career planning

  • Expose students to related community, post-secondary education, and businesses resources

  • Allow students to work in teams using critical thinking, communication and collaboration to resolve, create, or design a solution to a project

  • Opportunity for students to share results and recommendations

  • Provide academic remediation as required

  • Create faculty teams, involving teachers from different academic and career fields, to create, write and lead Project Based Learning experiences

DUE to COVID-19, the Academy STEM League's weekly after school sessions will be virtual until otherwise directed.

The Academy STEM League, November 9, 2020 to May 30, 2021, will include weekly after-school sessions 3:30-4:30 (virtual or at HS) and four Saturdays 9:00-2:00 (second semester). Saturdays will include breakfast and lunch and snack for after-school. Free transportation for zoned-school students. Out-of-zone students must provide their own transportation.
