Looking for an opportunity to connect with youth and make a meaningful impact? The Hamline Pre-Health Club offers the perfect chance to gain volunteer experience while developing valuable leadership skills like teaching and compassion. Our club organizes projects aimed at addressing healthcare challenges and welcomes students from all academic backgrounds—not just those on the pre-health track.
Our current project focuses on reducing oral health disparities in the Twin Cities area by collecting and distributing oral hygiene supplies. These supplies will be donated to children's shelters, schools, and community centers.
The distribution of oral hygiene kits will also serve to teach kids about the importance of brushing and flossing on a daily basis, the importance of regular dental check-ups, and teach them the connection between oral health and general health. Poor oral hygiene has been linked to various systemic conditions, including cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, so by distributing oral hygiene kits, there is a potential to contribute to overall health improvements in individuals who may otherwise suffer from dental-related pain and infections.
Join us in empowering the youth to take charge of their oral health, an essential part of their overall well-being!
