This past May 28th-30th, the Annual Conference of the Minnesota United Methodist Church (MNUMC) was held in Bloomington, MN. Meeting at the DoubleTree in Bloomington, pastors, lay persons, and others affiliated with the UMC gathered to discuss various topics in panels, eat together, and get to know one another.
At the MNUMC Annual Conferece Hamline University’s Wesley Center tabled to help promote the #HugHamline Campaign. Since Hamline University is an United Methodist affiliated school, the #HugHamline Campaign aims to connect all people of the UMC to Hamline students, staff, faculty, and alumni.
In addition to the table, Chaplain Kelly and four Hamline students: Caleb Lueders ('24), Elizabeth Evans ('25), and Oliver Engstrom ('26), met with over 50 people for breakfast on Thursday, May 30th. Over breakfast pizza, fruit, and coffee, the students shared their own stories--both the challenges and struggles along with the amazing and wonderful experiences of being a student at Hamline. We signed up over 40 names of people called United Methodist who want to continue to hear more about this new campaign and we look forward to offering all who want to #HugHamline -- through both virtual and in-person events to campus in the near future.
