MSA kicked off the semester with a welcome back general body meeting that brought together new and returning students. This gathering provided an opportunity for members to meet, share experiences, and build friendships. The warm atmosphere set the tone for a semester focused on community building and support. MSA had a great turnout with over 30 students. We also had food ordered from the Shish Mediterranean Restaurant!
We brought the Hamline Muslim community to Como park for a fall picnic event. Catered by Wally’s Mediterranean food and in collaboration with the Hamline Badminton club, our picnic was a blast! We had soccer, badminton, card games, Maghrib prayer, and a bonfire with halal s’mores! Thank you to the 30 people who attended!
This fall semester we were lucky enough to have Hamline faculty, Layla Stenson, come into our general body meeting and help with an Arabic language assessment course. We have plans in the spring semester to bring back multiple Arabic courses!
During the fall semester, MSA hosted 6 general body meetings. All with different topics to discuss, various activities, and tea/shaax were always provided! Our general body meets every other week on Thursdays during Convo hour (11:30). We hope to see you there when the spring semester starts!
MSA wrapped up the fall semester with a sister’s event and a brother’s event. The sisters had a fun friendsgiving called “gather & give”! The brothers had an exciting FIFA tournament with pizza and Isha prayer! Our treasurer, Abdi, won.
As we conclude this fall semester, MSA is excited about what lies ahead in the spring. Plans are already underway for more educational events, cultural celebrations, and community service initiatives. The MSA remains committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all students can thrive.
As we wrap up the fall semester, the University Muslim Students Association (MSA) reflects on a semester filled with growth, connection, and meaningful contributions to our campus community. Here’s a look back at some of the standout moments and achievements from this semester.
