Senior Spotlights

As the 2023-2024 academic year comes to a close, the Welsey Center wanted to highlight the Hamline University Senior Class of 2024 student workers at the Wesley Center, Food Resource Center, and McVay.

Annika McClintock

Student Communications Manager at the Wesley Center and Student Leader of Christian Campus Ministry

What is your major and minor? Communication Major and Psychology Minor.

What do you love most about the Wesley Center? I love the sense of community and the opportunity to learn about other cultures and religions.

What is your favorite memory from your time spent at Wesley Center? One of my favorite memories at the Wesley Center is when all of us would make memes of Nur. It was so much fun and it was an activity everyone enjoyed. Shoutout to Nur for being a good sport. 

What advice would you give to Hamline students? Take advantage of all the opportunities Hamline has to offer but also take time for yourself. Make space for self-care and relaxation amongst the craziness of college. 

Emely Quintero Silverio

What is your Major and Minor? Elementary Education Major with a Minor in Spanish.

What do you love most about the FRC and McVay? Being able to help my community and learning how to become a better leader.

What is your favorite memory from your time spent at McVay? Favorite memory from McVay is seeing the youth pet baby goats!

What advice would you give to Hamline students? Never forget to put your health (physically, emotionally, or mentally) first.

What is your Major? Digital Media Arts

What do you love most about McVay? Working with the kids.

What is your favorite memory from your time spent at McVay? I had a lot of fun at the MIA programming over the summer!

What advice would you give to Hamline students? Use the resources provided to you.

Taylor Lander

FRC Student Lead

What are you majors? Psychology and Sociology.

What do you love most about the FRC? I love the people!! They make my time here so fun and are so passionate!

What is your favorite memory from your time spent at FRC? My favorite memory has to be when the FRC moved to West Hall and we got to use this amazing space.

What advice would you give to Hamline students? I would advise students to get out there and get involved! I met so many amazing people and got a lot of amazing opportunities from being involved!

Hafsa Ahmed

FRC Student worker, Social Justice Student Coordinator 

What are you majors? Biology, B.S.

What do you love most about the FRC? The people!

What is your favorite memory from your time spent at FRC? My favorite memory is playing connect four with Jessalin, Elizabeth, and I, during the summer before the Malstrom Lecture.  

What advice would you give to Hamline students? Be patient with yourself, and look around, soon you will find where you need to be on the way.
