VFW - Voice of Democracy Scholarship
Established in 1947, our Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay.
The national first place winner receives a $30,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school.
A complete list of other national scholarships range from $1,000-$16,000, and the first place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins at least a scholarship of $1,000.

Ojeda Multi-County Youth Scholarship
Eligibility: Applicants must be of Hispanic or African American origin, and have a minimum 2.9 GPA to apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $1,000

Mark A. Jefferson Teaching Scholarship
Eligibility: Any male, African American student who's an aspiring educator with a minimum of 2.8 GPA.

Alexander de Guia Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility: Any immigrant or child of immigrants from the Philippines who is in high school or studying at a two-year community college and planning to transfer may apply for this scholarship if they have at least a 3.5 GPA and community service and/or leadership experience.

Patriots Path Scholarship
Eligibility: Any high school senior in JROTC or undergraduate student in ROTC who has at least a 3.0 GPA may apply for this scholarship.
Amount: $2,000
Winners: 5 winners, $400 each

Hagan Scholarship Foundation
The Hagan Scholarship is a need-based merit scholarship for goal-driven students in the high school graduating.
Eligibility: parents 2024 Adjusted Gross Income must not have exceeded 100,000. Student(s) must have achieved an unweighted .5 GPA based on a 4.0 Grading Scale. Must be enrolled in a four year college or university for the 2026 fall semester.
Award: Recipients will receive $2000 to purchase essential items for college and be eligible for up to $7,500 each semester.

National FFA Scholarship Opportunities

If you are a senior FFA member in high school or FFA Alumni in college, just one application is required for multiple scholarship opportunities totaling nearly $2.5 million. Missouri usually does really well with these scholarships. The deadline is January 11, 2024.
