Biography
My name is Wesley LeCroy and I am a senior in high school. I took theater my freshman year, art two and three my junior year, and art 5 and musical theater this year. There have been many ups and downs in my fine arts experience, but overall, it has been a good experience. The friendships I’ve made in fine arts classes are some of my best. The art classes have pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me work on finding a style that I like and feels like me. Theater is always a very relaxing place for me, I’m not sure why but I feel calmer in the theater.
Overall, the fine arts program has been a great experience for me. I’ve grown as a person and feel like I am a better person for having taken fine arts classes. It’s not the easiest to show your creativity in most classes, but in both art and theater, it’s basically all your creativity and what you can come up with. It’s a good release to be able to make stuff that you like and can feel proud of.
After I graduate I’m planning on finishing the welding courses at Lanier Tech and working some sort of manufacturing job until I’m able to support myself selling welded sculptures and car parts I make online. Art might not help me a whole lot in my main life because I’ve done mostly 2D art, but it will help me with side projects like cars that I’m working on. Because of art I am now able to look at something and be able to figure out how to make it look better which will help a lot when making sculptures and designing parts for cars that look aesthetically pleasing.
