Biography
Jacqueline Arroyo is a senior art student of the class of 2022. While in high school, she took a painting class and a Visual Arts/Comprehensive methods class. What Jackie has loved most about these classes is learning new techniques for making and appreciating her own art instead of merely copying others' artistic styles and media. She has worked on several special projects revolving around her initial contour line drawing of an ibis. Then, she made the ibis in a wrapped form for added visual interest and to see a more life-like representation of the bird in flight. Finally, as part of the grid art project, Jackie converted her original ibis drawing into an Oil Pastel Objective Abstraction. To do this, she rotated the ibis into a different angle and colored its feathers with purple, black, and a bit of white to make it look like a bird from mythology or legend. Following graduation, Jacqueline intends to go to college and study art and design, specifically as pertains to fashion. Her experiences with textures and colors throughout high school in art classes has been key in improving her drawing skills, use of color, form, and style, as well as the value that she places in various media.
