Biography
Vu Nguyen has been at West Hall for seven years, from sixth to twelfth grade, and has been involved in the Band of Silver, concert band, symphonic band, and district honor band as well as several small ensembles. He’s held leadership positions in the Band of Silver since sophomore year: librarian, section leader (junior year), and co-band captain (senior year), and has auditioned and made district honor band three times. Additionally, Vu also participates in various organizations and plays sports. Vu is the president of the newly restarted National Honor Society, a member of Beta Club and Student Council, and also a member of the Tri M Music Honor Society. He has also been an active member of the West Hall High School tennis team since seventh grade and is the captain of the 2022 team.
In his free time, Vu likes to create digital art through sculpture or 3D modeling, learn the violin, compose music, play tennis, and develop games. He has a passion for creative endeavors and seeks to create experiences through a digital medium. Vu constantly seeks to learn skills that allow him to better convey emotions through games and has, as a result, learned how to perform many roles. He has made one game named Chronohunt and is currently working on a new game.
Vu is also a scholar and a full IB diploma candidate maintaining high A’s in all classes and a high GPA. He is also taking an extra AP computer science class online because of his interest in majoring in Computer Science at Georgia Tech. And, due to his deep appreciation toward music, Vu is planning on minoring in music. He is planning on playing in the Georgia Tech orchestra, either as a flutist or violinist and plans to continue playing music for a very long time.
