Ethan Dyal

Biography

Ethan Dyal is a senior percussionist of the class of 2022 and currently serves as the Band Captain of the 2021-22 Band of Silver. He has been a part of the Band of Silver Marching Band for the past five years as he was the first ever 8th grader to be invited to join the Band of Silver. This has led to the current middle school musicians being much more involved with the high school bands than they ever have been. Ethan has also served as the Properties Crew Chief of the marching band for the past two years. He has been heavily involved in the curricular side of band as he has taken all of the Intermediate Ensemble classes for Percussion Ensemble. On top of that, he has added on a second instrument as of this year by becoming an alto saxophonist in the Spartan Jazz Band. Ethan aspires to pursue a career in film and to help him prepare he has taken every possible ATV and film class offered by West Hall completing two separate pathways in the process. In 2020, Ethan earned the Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence. He has also been chosen, after auditioning, for the District 14 Honor Band his 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade years. Music has been one of the biggest and most defining aspects of Ethan’s life for the past seven years and everything he has learned in the process will continue to serve him as he grows and moves on in life.
