Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Spout Springs School of Enrichment.

In an effort to keep our school safe, we ask that you take a few moments to complete the volunteer application form.

All volunteers must complete an application each year.

FY26-27 Volunteer Form

To submit the application, volunteers must complete two online compliance modules:

Child Sexual Abuse/Assault Awareness
Mandated Reporting

When registering for the online training, you must provide a keyword.

The keyword for mandated training is Expressive

What does bullying mean?

At Spout Springs School of Enrichment, the safety and well-being of our students is one of our highest priorities. We want every child to feel safe, respected, and valued at school. When a student or parent reports that a child is being bullied, we take that concern seriously and investigate what has occurred.

As we work with families, we have noticed that some behaviors are being described as “bullying” when, although the behavior is inappropriate and needs to be addressed, it does not meet the definition of bullying. We believe it is important that we work together to help our students and families understand the difference.

Bullying is more than an unkind interaction or a disagreement between students. Bullying generally involves behavior that is:

Repeated or has the potential to be repeated
Intentional and targeted toward another student
Aggressive or harmful
Involves a real or perceived imbalance of power between students

Examples might include repeated teasing or harassment of a student, repeatedly excluding or targeting the same student, threats, intimidation, or ongoing physical or verbal aggression.

Students will sometimes make poor choices. They may say something unkind, have an argument, disagree during a game, exclude someone from an activity, or engage in inappropriate behavior. While staff will address these behaviors, an isolated incident or conflict does not necessarily constitute bullying.

We ask our parents to partner with us by encouraging children to:

Tell a trusted adult when something happens that makes them feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
Describe exactly what happened rather than labeling the behavior as “bullying.”
Share whether the behavior has happened before and how often.
Avoid retaliating or attempting to handle serious situations on their own.
Allow school staff to investigate the situation and determine the appropriate response.

When concerns are reported, our staff will work to understand what happened, speak with the students involved, gather information, and respond appropriately.

We want the same thing you do: for your child to be safe, successful, and treated with respect. By working together and using a common understanding of bullying, we can ensure that serious concerns receive the attention they deserve while also teaching our students how to appropriately handle conflict, mistakes, and disagreements.
