SPEECH TOPIC - 2026:

If I Could DELETE One Thing From The World

Class Brainstorm:

(purpose is to convince the audience that what you're talking about, really truly needs to be deleted)

• devices should be deleted

• Taylor Swift should be deleted

• brocolli should be deleted

• bad drivers should be deleted

• the colour pink should be deleted

• bullies should be deleted

• golf should be deleted

• guns should be deleted

• rap music should be deleted

• petrol vehicles should be deleted

• people who break the law should be deleted

• cats should be deleted

• dad jokes should be deleted

• vapes should be deleted

• KFC should be deleted

Rules

• speeches must be three minutes long

• your speech must be written at school, but you can seek feedback from home

• you will have some class time to practice your speech, but you can practice at home too

• this is an independent task (you're on your own) - but if you need help, please ask

• cue cards optional

Timeframe:

• Week 7 - write speech

• Week 8 - practice speech

• Week 9 - present speech to class

• Top 3 speakers go through to the final - Tuesday 30 June - Week 11 (speeches must be learnt by heart and cue cards are compulsory for these people)
