My name is Melissa Enright and I am excited to introduce myself as the K-2 Reading Interventionist at Central Elementary School. It is my 12th year teaching and my 7th teaching in Haddonfield. Up until 2021, I was a Kindergarten teacher for the district at both Central & Lizzy Haddon and am now the Reading Interventionist for K-2. Here is some more information about me so you can get to know a little more about me and me background.
I was born and raised in Cherry Hill. After graduating high school from Bishop Eustace, I moved to Ohio for college where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Dayton. It was at Dayton that I met my now husband which ultimately led me to his hometown of Chicago back in 2010. I taught for 5 years in Chicago spending most of that time in 1st grade. I also attended graduate school and earned my master’s degree from DePaul University in Literacy and Specialized Instruction.
While we loved living in Chicago, my husband’s job brought him to the Philadelphia area and I could not be more thrilled to be back closer to family and friends in New Jersey. We live on the Tatem side of town and have 5 boys! Rory is 7, Keegan is 5, Cormac & Finn are 3 and "the baby", Seamus, is 2. We recently got a puppy who now at 13 months old weighs 150 lbs. We are busy!
While teaching Kindergarten and 1st Grade, I was always passionate about reading instruction. Supporting students as they not only become readers but learn to love it is the most rewarding experience! I am looking forward to working with your children and helping them to become lifelong readers.
