Once Degree Works is launched to the HACC community a cross functional of staff, from Academic and Student Affairs, will meet regularly as the Degree Works Steering Committee. Priorities include:
Using Degree Works data - Degree Works will give HACC access to data that has not been available previously. This includes checking audits for classes that students are taking outside of their program of study, seeing which classes are in demand, and tracking a students progress on their plan.
Leveraging Degree Works to read placement scores - As well as being a tool that can read which classes should meet program requirements, Degree Works can read data such as test scores. A Developmental Block is in the process of being created which should allow students, staff and faculty to see which classes are need for a student to complete their Developmental Classes.
Ensure that guided pathways are implemented from Orientation to Graduation - The Student Educational Planner allows templates to be created for students that can be applied as they attend orientation. We hope to work with key staff members to allow a student to know exactly what they need to take to complete their program, and to do so in a timely manner.
