Kindergarten at Crescent Valley School
CVS is proud to offer exemplary early childhood programming. Our meaningful play-based learning approach promotes social and emotional learning, literacy, numeracy, and physical activity through inquiry and exploration.
Our early learners have all the support and services available to students in our elementary programs, including early intervention support. The child-centered approach focuses on providing instruction and opportunities to build a strong foundation for your child's education.
Our literacy approach includes: phonological awareness (Heggerty), decoding (Jolly Phonics), alphabetic principle and formation (Learning Without Tears), as well as literacy knowledge and print concepts (Flyleaf Decodable Texts). Our numeracy approach focuses on hands-on experiences to support understanding. Number formation is reinforced with the Learning Without Tears program. Students enjoy the interactive focus on math with fun songs, games, and stories. Lessons are fun and include opportunities to enrich and extend their learning.
Other program highlights include: full day programming , daily physical activity, interactive centers, fieldtrips and swimming lessons, kindercooking and healthy breakfast program, and speech assessment and services.
