भाषा नीति - Language Policy

भाषा शिक्षा का एक महत्वपूर्ण अंग है एवं इससे जुड़े कुछ सामान्य व् अक्सर चिंतित करने वाले मुद्दों को यहाँ दर्शाया गया है:

विद्यालय में शिक्षा का माध्यम अंग्रेजी है, हांलाकि, जहाँ अभिव्यक्ति का महत्व भाषा से अधिक है वहां हम मातृ भाषा (उन बच्चों के लिए जिनकी मातृ भाषा अंग्रेजी नहीं है) को प्रोत्साहित करते हैं। अतः विद्यालय कक्षा में बच्चों द्वारा व् कभी-कभी शिक्षिकाओं द्वारा भाषाओँ के उचित मिश्रण में विश्वास रखता है, विशेषकर शुरुआती वर्षों में जब अधिकतर बच्चों के लिए अंग्रेजी नई भाषा होती है।
ज्ञानकृति भाषा के प्राकृतिक विकास के निम्नलिखित तरीकों को प्राथमिकता देती है, जो कि इसी क्रम में होता है (यह क्रम समानांतर हो सकता है किन्तु आगे-पीछे नहीं) इसलिए आप यह पाएंगे कि कक्षा के अंदर व् बाहर अधिक महत्व अंग्रेजी भाषा के परिचय (सुनना व् समझना) उसके बाद बोलने व् पढ़ने तत्पश्चात लिखने पर दिया जाता है। यह क्रम विशेषकर उन छोटे बच्चों के लिए जरुरी है जिनके मोटर स्किल अभी लिखने के लिए तैयार नहीं हैं।

Language is an important component of the education and some common and persistent issues are addressed here:

English is the medium of instruction. However, usage of Mother Tongue (for those children with mother tongue other than English) in school is also encouraged where the need for expression is more important than the language being used. The school therefore believes in a healthy mix of languages being used inside the classroom by the students and at times also by the teachers, especially in the early formative years where English is a new language for most children.
The school will also give priority to the steps as listed below as natural language development also happens in the same order (which are simultaneous but cannot be preceded). Therefore you will find a lot of emphasis on first giving the child exposure to the English language (listening & understanding) inside and outside the class and then on speaking & reading and lastly on writing. This is especially true for the younger children whose motor skills are not ready for writing.
