Dear dance parents,
I am Sheri P. Brewington, the dance teacher at Greenwood High School. I have been teaching dance in public schools since 1994.
Your child will be exposed to a variety of learning experiences in dance during the semester. A good public school dance program is aligned with the visual and performing arts framework. Your child may or may not take dance from a local studio. I encourage as many dance experiences as possible. Please continue with the private instruction in addition to dance training at school. Private studios have different goals and experiences for dancers i.e. competitions, a focus class i.e. jazz, tap, lyrical. I will expose the students to many genres of dance, choreography, and performance. Please read carefully the course requirements for details.
If you have any questions or concerns, I can be reached at Greenwood High School by calling 941-5500 ext 27129. Please leave a message and/or feel free to email me at brewingtons@gwd50.org.
Dear dance parents,
I am Madison Syswerda, a dance teacher at Greenwood High School. I am a Greenwood native and am happy to be back in my hometown teaching what I love! I graduated from Winthrop University in December of 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. I am currently earning my teaching certification through the PACE program throughout the next two to three years while actively teaching. I have danced since I was two years old and done professional work for the past three years. I am excited to take on this new direction with teaching and sharing the knowledge I have gained in different fields. If you have any questions feel free to email me at syswerdam@gwd50.org.
